Make sure you get your salt!
A study performed recently on 8,700 test subjects has confirmed what I always knew to be true - salt is indeed good for you. And the funny thing is that science has always been at odds to the low salt diet. This is because adequate salt is required in order to maintain healthy bodily functions.
According to the study which was performed by the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, cutting your salt intake may significantly raise risk of death from cardiovascular disease by 80%. The study also suggests that it may increase increase your risk of dying from all other causes by 24%.
This study certainly raises questions about the benefits of cutting salt from your diet.
